Program Description:

Utilizing the phrase middle passage and its historical connotation, scholars Rudder and Grigsby aim to demystify the space between junior and senior level higher ed leadership through the sharing of unspoken experiences and encounters.

This session aims to focus on the analogy of navigating through the water of the academic middle passage and finding ways to elevate the lived experiences of Black and Brown persons serving as mid-level leaders in higher education; highlighting their journeys and identifying pathways to success to better understand needs and challenges to create communities of support.
