Program Description: As the African diaspora fights neocolonialism, racism, white supremacy, and oppression within higher education, intra-racial and ethnic relationship-building among Black student affairs professionals becomes increasingly important. Current student development theories center on white supremacy and colonization and do not consider the nuanced experiences of Africans within the diaspora in higher education institutions. Student affairs professionals within the African diaspora must create spaces to exchange knowledge and develop their Pan-African practices, which could improve support for Black African college students in American higher education.
