Program Abstract:
This session offers a supportive space for staff to explore how world events and external stressors show up in their work and well-being. Participants will have the option to share as they feel comfortable while the group holds space for heavy topics with care and respect. They will also learn simple tools for staying grounded, protecting their energy, and finding community support during challenging times.

Program Description:
This facilitated dialogue session offers both structure and spaciousness for participants to process and learn. The session includes:

Community Agreements & Engagement Tools
Participants co-create grounding norms using dialogue-based techniques that support emotional safety.

Guided Reflection on External Events
Individuals reflect on global or national issues currently affecting their identity, wellbeing, work performance, or relationships with students.

Small-Group Dialogue Circles: Demo & Engagement
Participants will first learn about active listening skills and go through a short demo before moving into sharing reflections in small groups to practicing compassionate listening and offer community support.

Skill-Building Mini-Lessons
We'll then come back into the larger group and work through short demonstrations that teach tools for community care, boundary-setting, and self-preservation during moments of emotional overload.

Integration & Strategy Mapping
We'll finish off with some time for the small groups to reconnect & outline personal and collective strategies to navigate global stressors with at least one tool that they resonated with.

The session holds space for emotional depth while grounding participants in practical skills they can use immediately.
